Foam Roof Restoration Steps

Clean Clean and dry the roof surface. 

If it a built-up roof with gravel, remove all the dirt and loose gravel.
Spray Foam Spray foam on the entire roof surface and up the parapets.  Spray foam to seal all roof penetrations.  Foam is fully adhered - no screws required.

On this project the stairwell penthouse walls were also sealed with foam.  Additional foam was sprayed to fill the areas where water was standing and on the uphill side of penetrations to create crickets to divert water around the penetrations.

Foam is typically sprayed at a nominal 1" thick.  A maximum of 4" of thickness can be sprayed for extra insulation.  Foam has insulation value of approximately R-6 per inch.
Base Coat Apply water based acrylic coating on all of the foam.  The coatings protect the foam from the sun.  We apply two different color coatings so it is obvious if the white top coating is getting thin and needs recoating.
